Brodie is a LHD, so Giordano and Hanifin is our 2 first LHD, with that trade we add Murray, a young def and Milano a young prospect. Brodie as 3rd LHD with a high salary, it's not a must!! Maybe the return could be higher with another trade...

Brodie has proven that he can play both sides of the ice and I would argue that he was better when he played on the right hand side with Giordano. the flames will are gonna try to recreate that chemistry. no point in getting a bottom pairing defenseman when we have three guys who are knocking on the door.
