i'm happy someone else thinks that they need to rebuild, but I think it should start with Toews.

I’m not sure I would call moving all role players (Except Saad) rebuilding. I think the hawks are trying to keep their heads above water for the next 2 years until some of our prospects are ready. Moving the players you did is out okayish for a retool, but a full out rebuild you get rid of Toews, Kane, Keith during this offseason. I’m also just barely okay with Schmaltz as our 2nd line center, definitely do not want as our number one guy.

Toews, Kane, Keith, Seabrook, And Crawford all have NTC and can't be moved. Secondly, Shmaltz played very well and is very capable to play anywhere in the top 6. Lastly, adding a bunch of rookies to this team in two years with "the core" being 2 years older won't make the hawks good again. They need to move off as many assests as they can and rebuild as soon as next offseason.

NMC aren’t all they’re cracked up to be, often enough a player will move if they feel they aren’t wanted, or of they think they are wasting their last years in the league. Keith, Towes, and Kane are all ultra cooperative and likely would agree to a trade to a perennial contender if they felt nothing would improve here.

Adding a whole bunch of rookies in a couple years won’t make the hawks good, they’ll make them great again especially if they are the real deals.
