Ottawa gets Krug who has two years left. Carlo stabilizes defense and Bjork will add to roster. Ottawa does not lose much on offence and the addition of these players give them a better chance to not completely suck with Colorado having their 1st pick.

Next year Chara likely comes off books as well as McQuaid. They will have an option to move Krejci or Backes in the following years as their NM clauses become more flexible.
