I said this before but if Bowman could have done things differently, Saad and Panarin could/should have been their top two LWers in ‘15-16. Saying that, tho, I would almost rather trade Saad and Anisimov as part of a big deal to land Karlsson. There would most likely be enough cap left to then extend EK as well as Schmaltz.

take Tanev and the 2nd rounder off, and no retained salary on eriksson, and leave everything on the hawks side. then that would work.

Really! I admit, I know next to nothing about Chris Tanev. However, he seems to be a bit fragile or injury prone and not very product to say the least. Not to mention his cap hit is way too high to justify.

Dumping Seabrook's contract would never cost that much. His contract is arguably better than Eriksson's, and he has more value to the Hawks than Eriksson ever would.

everyone knows that hawks are in the weirdest spot, any deal pretty much at this point is gonna be a waaayyyyy over pay on the hawks part. sure, it may not bet as dirastic as i said, but it sure as sh*t feels like it at this point. bickel; had like 3 years left on his deal that was around 4 ish mil (i think) and it took tuevo and some change to get that contract off. sure, seabs isnt as bad as bickell. but that contract man, that contract is basically the black plague.

Bickell + Teuvo got the Hawks a second round pick and a third round pick. Regardless, trading Seabrook and his $6.875M for Eriksson and his $6M contract would be such a joke. You only save 2 years because Eriksson's contract is shorter but he's also the inferior player. If the Hawks really wanted to get rid of Seabrook then they wouldn't bring back an equally horid deal, especially if they included propsects AND a first rounder. Makes no sense.

As long as Seabrook is playing top 2 minutes with the Hawks, that is a real problem at this stage. Eriksson, while being an inferior player, can at least be lost in a bottom six role or on the second PP unit. However, at $6M hit, that can’t be considered reason to want him.
