I like ryan too, but I wanted 1 young scoring line in the bottom 6 and 1 shutdown line, so think of it as 2 third lines

That fourth line is better offensively and defensively than the third line.

Not better offensively IMO, I havent seen frolik be consistent away from backlund and mangiapane isnt even a regular NHl'er yet

Disagree completely. This third line has an enormous ceiling offensively, fourth line has a very low ceiling. You know what you're getting from the fourth line, and that's not a whole lot. I think this team is going to be very good this year, as long as Smith can stay healthy. Jankowski/Bennet/Czarnik all have loads of potential, I could see each of them scoring 35+ points.

Might be right. Given Jankowski's AHL track record and his first year in the NHL, CGY might be better off giving him 11-12 minutes for continued development.

Ryan is the better player today, for sure.

Forgot to rate this 4 stars.

This is a great roster and the line combinations are what I'd like to see.

Still not totally comfortable with the backup goalie situation though.

Where is this coming from? He had the best scoring rate in the AHL prior to call up and is two years younger than Foo. He's better today than Foo is. He's the Flames most NHL ready forward prospect. Also, I wouldnt read anything into their NHL scoring rates in call up. Foo was used in the top 6 because of lack of RW depth. Mangiapane was saddled with Stajan/Hathaway/Brouwer. His shot rates were still high with those awful players.
