this helps the oil a lot more than it helps nashville

they arent giving up fiala and ellis for a 2C upgrade

I'd bet Draisaitl takes over #1C within first or second year of being in NSH, while he is still learning to run his own line I'm sure NSH would give him better linemates then EDM has when slotting him in at center

Ellis for Klefbom is an upgrade for NSH, but it comes at the price of their LHD/RHD balance (3 top-pair LHDs, 1 top-pair RHD post-deal, instead of 2 and 2). Couple that with the fact that their best carrying dman (the guy who can play brutal minutes with crappy teammates) is a righty (PK Subban), so they only have 1 top-pair now instead of 2, and the swap doesn't make sense for them. Yes, Drai is an upgrade over their current Cs, but not enough to justify giving up a 20-goal scorer on 12.3% shooting, especially with how little scoring depth they have up front.

Beyond that, MTL has less interest in Caggiula than I do in underwater basket-weaving, and they aren't giving up one of their 2 best wingers and their best LD for a guy whose career high in points is 55.
Puljujarvi's about as good as Skinner overall, and younger. Don't let McLellan's refusal to give him minutes and his low sh% fool you.
