I just threw some names out there

Eriksson has a contract that can be bought out in June 2019 without hurting our Cap structure too much.

I don't know what source these rumours are from, but this is ludacrous for VAN. Why would a team in the middle of a rebuild give up their 2nd best prospect, best D prospect, and a first round pick for Pacioretty?

Because its Vancouver. Don't worry they'll sign Rick Nash to 7years at 9million.

I joined the source of the article up there... Also it was well mentionned that Linden departure was about him wanting to continue the rebuild and owners wanting to contend now....

this offer is about paying for Eriksson cap dumpe and paying for Patch... I'm not saying these names are in the rumor, I'm saying that if a deal like this goes through, it would need to involve a major overpayment from VAN

Juolevi might not be their 2nd best D prospect at this point. Hughes is definitely their number 1 prospect on the blueline.

Argh, that's aiming a bit high, don't you think? I'd peg Patches as being worth maybe a good prospect and a later first rounder, more if he re-signs. But a pick that'll be contending for first overall? Hard to see that moving without some protection. And yes, taking LE is doing the Canuks a favour, but the Habs are not getting them out of a life or death situation.

A fairer deal is maybe one of these prospects and a lottery protected first and maybe a 2 or 3 in the 2020 draft, plus LE for Patches. That assumes Patches resigns, of course.

The deal doesn’t make sense for a number of reasons. Vancouver is a rebuilding franchise. Acquiring 7 months of Max Pacioretty has zero positive affect.

Even if this wasn’t a rebuilding team, trading a potential top pairing defenceman, the most recent Hobey Baker Winner, and a lottery pick for rental Patches + absorbing the Eriksson contract is insane; the value just isn’t matching whatsoever

Thanks for clarifying. I would give up Juolevi and a 2nd, aliong with Eriksson as the Canucks for Pacioretty and a cap dump, especially without Patches signed to an extension. Unfortunately, I don`t see why he would want to stay in vancouver as they are currently set up.
