That is waaaay too much money for Skinner

Evander Kane got 7x7, and Skinner has had consistently better #s over the past 5-6 years

Skinner getting 7x7 is right were he should be comparably (with Kane and JVR)

6-6.5x7 is right for Skinner in my humble opinion. JVR and Kane are 6mil dollar player at best who were overpayed and their respective teams would regret those deals and I dont know if the GMs are actually stupid or yes because those deals are baad and you will see that earlier than you would expect, sooner with Kane. They are both one dimensional players who should not get anywhere close to 7mil per.. those are the mistakes that cost you a job.. in terms of comparison it is good, in terms of real value? Not even close. I would rather look at Pacioretty who is the same age as JVR and is better striker, better assist gather and better defensive player who would cost possibly 0.5-1 mil less.. and they wasted 7m for JVR and Kane.. I wouldnt pay 7mil bucks for one dimensional LWs who scored 30+ goals 2x/nearly 30 goals 2x and 30+goals 1x/nearly 30 goals 2x respectively. That is a cost of top line C ffs and I would rather have that than LWs who barely score 30 twice in 9 seasons they played.. Pacioretty who almost everybody seems to hate? 30+ goals in 5 of 7 full NHL seasons, hit almost 40 in 2 of those 5 and one of those 2 he didnt get 30 was lockout season.. for me Pacioretty is more valuable than Kane and JVR..

Well I hate to break it to you, that's not how the league works. Players get paid on stats, and that's a fact not an opinion, so based on his stats and age I wouldn't say that contract is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over paying Skinner.

Some GMs are just dumb to pay 7mil for those players. Players that are worth 7.5? Tarasenko, ROR, who are not one dimensional.. hate to say it but Kanes, JVRs and potentially Skinners contracts would SUCK sooner than later.
