Easy no from Betterall. Buffalo takes on a contract and gets nothing for doing it.

? lol

Gettinger and Gilmour are nothing? Both players are worth more than a 7th on their own. This is a silly deal.
By deadline time this season Smith will be highly movable...2nd & 3rd are my predictions.

Even with his 1 year deal, Hayes will fetch more than this. It's on the Rangers to move him to a team that he would sign with.

Panarin and Karlsson are going to cost more...and will likely push for a 7th year.

Pionk and Buch (in particular) will cost more by years end.

Thank you for your comments.
Buffalo has plenty of 7th round value prospects and do not need any more. The Sabres already have their own Smith, his name is Beaulieu, at nearly half the salary who would be easier to move this TDL because his contradt runs out this year, why add another one? As I said an easy pass from Betterall.
I do not know enough about the other trades to make a comment and will take your word for them.

7th round value prospects don't make the NHL...Gilmour already did that last year and will be an NHL defensman again this year. That fact renders his draft position irrelevant, and his value certainly more than a 7th pick... so I don't get the comment.

Gettinger just turned 20 years old. You may not know the player (which is fine, your a Buffalo fan), but that doesn't mean he isn't a viable prospect. The Rangers are pretty high on the kid, but you'll see that when he's with the team in a year or two. In either case, he was never a 7th round pick, and has since surpassed his draft position already anyway. So again, I don't get the comment.

Not having interest in the players because of positional needs (or lack of) is one thing, that's more about mismatch trade partners. But to say both players = nothing...doesn't really make sense. Throw Smith on top of this...and the fact that Buffalo would be getting a 5th rd pick (which is already by itself higher than a 7th rd pick...because numbers), and this deal is just stupid.

As for the other trades....this isn't my post, so that wasn't directed at you.

Sorry for the miscommunication, you said they were worth 7th round picks, I based my response on that. But let's agree this is a stupid deal.
