Description
These lines are highly unlikely as I don't think Boston would carry this many young guys, but I was curious what lines I could put together if all the young guys pushed for an NHL spot.

Line 1 - Studnicka can play C/RW and recently just finished a solid Showcase for Canada playing RW. Good speed, good on the forecheck, good two-way game and is more of a setup guy vs shooter. I actually think he could work nicely with Bergeron/Marchand. Worst case he's not ready goes back to his junior team and Bjork fills the spot from the AHL after getting some solid TOI in.

Line 2 - Give Krejci a couple of snipers and see what happens. Pasta/Krejci played together at the world and were each over a PPG for the tournament. Donato showed the flashes of what he can do in his 12 games. Over an 82 game season he would have been on pace for 34G/27A. The one concern with this line would be defense. Donato is a WIP and Pasta isn't someone that is going to give you the defensive game of a Marchand.

Line 3 - This is an interesting line. Put a two-way centerman between a few sophomores coming off strong rookies years (Heinen 47pts / DeBrusk 43pts) who also play a responsible two-way game and see what happens. Its a line that could struggle at times, which would have to be a concern.

Line 4 - Big bruising line. Frederic and Kuraly can swap between LW/C and Backes can play C in a pinch as well. No only can this line bring a defensive presence but they have offensive upside as well. Good line for wearing down the opposing lines.

On defense - Reunite Chara/Carlo and let McAvoy play with a more two-way player in Moore. This allows Krug to slot in on the 3rd pairing with defensive minded Miller and give him a chance to go up against lesser forward groups.

Again I can't see all these young guys making the roster, but if they all pushed and earned a spot, I think these could be some interesting lines.

I normally do to, but there's a rhyme and reason behind why I did it here.

If I leave DeBrusk on the 2nd line my 3rd line is Donato - JFK - Heinen and honestly I don't like the idea of two rookies playing on the same line. I'm not going to move Marchand down and the guy as your #4LW is also a rookie, so that really just leaves DeBrusk as the best option to keep from having two rookies on the same line.

It’s not often that Moore gets described as two way.

He'll give you 20pt with almost no PP time. Hits, blocks shots and can play on the PK. His offensive wont be anything explosive (although I think he has some untapped offensive upside), but he can help a team at both ends of the ice. Is that essentially what a two-way player is?

He’s not great at defense. Our fans wanted to keep him for the sole reason that he does really well in 3 on 3 OT.

Interesting. From looking at his numbers he looks like he's a pretty steady defender. Obbvioulsy you've seen him more than I, but compared to other NJD d-men who played at least 40 games last year:

    Blocks - 2nd
    Hits - 1st
    oiSV% - 2nd

At ES he's oiGF vs oiGA was 3rd among NJ d-men last year.

Who was his primary d-partner last season?

sososossoo. this is my wheelhouse. Pasta when on Marchie and Bergy's line performed huge. Hands down top 3 in best line. Heinen Krejci Debrusk. Debrusk performed well with DK. Heinen deserves a promotion. If he doesn't perform well, put him to line 3. But he was a great depth player. Donato Kuraly Backes. Now, Donato is rightfully behind Debrusk and Marchie. Backes praised highly of Kuraly so it would be ok if they were on the same line. Frederic, JFK and Studnicka we could try out. Maybe switch Backes and Studnicka if 4th line isn't producing. pretty good. 3 stars

No way would I put 3 rookies on a line together lol. They'd get chewed up and spit out so fast. On the road with last change, you can bet teams would keep sending their top line out vs those 3.
