TDL deal with Detroit and Chicago. Taking on rentals.. +PO lineup

Created by: SammyT_51
Team: 2018-19 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 22, 2018
Published: Aug. 22, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Why? Kruger is one of the better penalty killers in the league with a lot of experience from PO runs (he is swedish which helps lol), Frk is just a depth addition on wing if someone has a bad time and Kronwall is one of the most experienced guys in the league, he isnt that good now but in playoffs it does not really matter because we had seen that guys like Orpik are very good when the high tempo of playoffs kicks in. He might not play every game and 20 minutes a night but he would be a good addition especially for young defencemen. Plus Babs loves Kronwall and he is in his last season so giving him a chance to compete would be great. Its just an idea and I dont know if the price is right after all so I dont know how realistic it is.

Is levio's value enough to get Kruger? Also there are a lot of reports in the news about Kronwall not returning. Is his health okay?

I think yes for first question. For second question.. Kronwall is completely fine, Zetterberg is the one who is injured, the thing is that he would likely end his career this season (Kronwall)..

Oh, so he is saying he may not play past this season coming. I just wasn't sure there.

Kronwall has pretty much played the last two seasons on one leg. He would look good in the blue but he will retire a red wing. If he didnt win the cup in 08 then they would maybe move him to give him a chance at a cup

From a wings fan; Kronwall has stated this is his final season and he can’t see himself wearing anything other than red... that being said; if he would approve of the trade then I’d jump on it. I think he can be an asset in the playoffs but he has def slowed down a lot in the last couple years so buyer beware.
Secondly, Babs loves Glendenning too. He even tried to get him last deadline but head shed didn’t agree; he is a great penalty killer and faceoff man and come in a lot cheaper than Kruger.. just a thought

I agree on Kronwall wanting to retire as DRW and respect that. But as a Leafs fan liking Detroit, if he goes somewhere, then it might be toronto, another team with history of swedish players excelling there. If he decides to stay a Red Wing.. it would be great for him. He is super class act gentleman!
The main difference for me between Glendening and Kruger is the term on their contracts, Kruger has 1yr left and Glendening 3yrs (if im not mistaken).
