"No way Tatar is worth 3 picks, including a 1st rounder"...The guy couldn't crack the top 12 in Vegas, making 5.3mm/year, and was traded for 3 picks to a team that doesn't even have a fully stocked farm system yet (and needs all the picks it can get). At the deadline, anything is possible. He may net a low first/early 2nd round pick, especially if a team thinks it'll put them over the top (a team like LA that needs secondary scoring would be perfect for Nyquist, as he's a legit secondary scorer).

If you want to play the someone is dumb enough to trade this then ok but tatar is a better player than nyquist plus hes signed, you can argue he was brought in more for what he would do this year and going forward.

Would it be better if it was just the first? I don't see him going for less because of the retained salary
