Swap of young talented LHD

Created by: scarbrow21
Team: 2018-19 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 31, 2018
Published: Aug. 31, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trouba will still need to get paid but playing with another young USA player, while getting 2nd PP time with that same D-partner whos signed long term might have an effect. CGY gets a hometown boy and WPG gets cost certainty as Morrisey likely gets 5-5.5M per over 6 years or more.

That 2nd PP unit is a potential team USA full line (+Vesalainen).

    CGY says no.

Maybe Brodie for Morrisey would work though.

Morrisey is much better then Hanifin

Hanifin does have a better ceiling but hasn't proven he can play like a top 2 D man like Morrisey has this past season honestly both teams would probably not do this deal but it is interesting

I think CGY would have to get like a 4th rounder or something small in return, but not that far off. Although I have to wonder why they would move a recently acquired player for a very similar gy with a lower ceiling...

I don't think Morrisey has a lower ceiling at all! He's been given no PP time whatsoever, and has been playing against the oppositions best all year where Hanafin has been somewhat sheltered in CAR with Slavin and Pesce getting the hard matchups. I do think CGY likely needs a small add though
