Faulk would play 2LD and move De Haan down, but you need more. Hague isn’t anything special and it’s a 1RD, PP QB and offensive dynamo. Carolina says no based on that return

My Vegas fan side says that this is a guy they should go after. He makes sense for them imo.

You're certainly overestimating Faulk. Not quite an offensive dynamo, light on his skates and often behind a step on his def coverage. This is a good return, Hague is on the right track as a prospect. Although Carpenter/Lindberg+ would be a better fit. I can see canes trying to unload Rask with Faulk also.

1. Skinner and Faulk cases are different can't use that as an argument to trade him for scraps.

2. Canes are under the cap floor after that trade.

Only way I see him getting traded is top6 F coming back. Otherwise play him on 3rd pair and 2nd PP.

That is bad return for top 4 rd. Canes don't need bottom 6 forwards/4th liners. Having Aho playing first year as a center and Necas coming in as a rookie I think it would be smarter to keep Rask as a back up plan.
