With Patches extended already, we now have a view of what the plan for this team is for the next few years. I’ve also made a few small moves to bolster the team and fill in some holes.
This team has a very bright outlook, as we have a lot of speed, skill, and ability to move players around on the lines. The “First Line” is just the first line because of their amazing on-ice chemistry and production last season. The next two lines can be mixed around easily as Patches-Stastny-Tuch and Haula-Eakin-Dzingel are really good lines and players aren’t glued to their spots. Rolling four lines means that players like Tuch, Dzingel, Haula, and Eakin will get equal time on ice to produce. One important key is though, I could see Cody Glass replacing Eakin at 3C at some point this season and really boosting that third line to another level.
The cap situation is also good as we have around 3mil already, and with players like Eakin, Reaves and Holden off the books we can easily re-sign Haula and make more moves too.
