I was told recently that bonus $ can be used against current and next years cap. IMO it kind of makes sense to leave more cap space in 2016-17 to absorb bonuses. Zaitsev could potentially be $3m+, Nylander and Matthews are due to dominate to the point where they will hit their bonuses. Same goes for most of our young bucks.

I think Sparks, Carrick and Marincin can have a bit lower cap hit. Maybe $100,000+ each. I would leave Demers off the team in that situation as well.

Leafs1967 is right. Leave bonus space so "young bucks" who reach their bonuses this year and next. Only teams that are Cup contenders should be "over the cap". My thought are some of the RFAs is to be pay them a little more and more term.
