Description

Creative.. Trade Marleau, other team buys him out, Leafs resign for $950 000 (Caps did it with Orpik). Nylander will sign for $7.1x6, Matthews will sign for only $11.5, but for only 6 years, wants the chance at freedom and a payday like Tavares. Marner will do a full 8 years but the price won't be cheap. Gardiner won't be resigned, but they will sign Stralman a bit longer than they would like, just to keep the cap hit low. Finally we will be using Horton's LTIR this season if we have to.

The only realistic thing is Ozhiganov signing. Cap space would not be 85mil next year. You are over cap without scratches and Marner and Nylander would not get that. Marner around 8 and Willy below 6.75. Also i think Matthews would get somewhere around what JT got. not more.

I was over the cap, but that was with Horton still on the roster, which you missed, that is $5.3 million LTIR. Cap went up 6%, if it does again it will be $85 million. I hope you are right with the young guys signing for less, but I'm a realist. I also now added a creative Orpik type trade and then resign scenario for Marleau.

I'm sorry, Vegas, a team who is a contender is going to tie up their cap with a buy out so they can exchange a 5th round pick for a 3rd? Just ridiculous

Back in October I called Nylander 7.10 x 6, he got 6.96 x 6, I also called Matthews $11.50 x 6, he got $11.6 x5....not too bad. Mitchie will sign for $9.3 but I'm thinking not as long as I first predicted, I'm thinking only 5 years also. Hey jamipro, what a farce you say,lol.
