Devils need a defensive LHD dman badly, but I don't really know if the Blues will move Edmundson. Thoughts?

That’s a pretty nice return, but Eddy is an absolute beast and has been the best defenseman for us this year. I could see a trade like this if the Blues are out of it by the deadline and Edmundson has played his way into 5 million territory.

Unless he grows 1-2 inches he we be under 6 feet though. Which would mean the Devils D-core would include Vatanen 5'10" 185, Butcher 5'10", Greene 5'11" 190, and Smith 5'11" 176 in the top 7; which isn't a bad thing, as long as the Devils are winning, but personally I think the Devils need a bigger physical defensive D-man in the group.

Do you mean it is a fair deal? Or that the Devils would be overpaying in this scenario?

Yeah that is the only way I can see the Blues making the trade; is if they are out of the playoffs early. So they just fire Yeo and start a minor rebuild for next season.

No I completely agree there are no burly big boys
I just don't want to give up a ton for it if we don't have too
I don't know Edmonson can you tell me about him?
Maybe Marty can help us with that.
I'm waiting to see what's with Santini, he's at least 6'0" and a thumper. Tough luck with the jaw. Stared well last year but playerd too high and could be moved to the A without waivers I believe. Lovejoy about done IMO

Edmonson is a physical defensive dman, his career high in points is 17, so he is not gifted tremendously offensively but, if the Smith makes the opening roster next year; the Devil will have:

Edmonson-Vatanen
Mueller-Severson
Butcher- Satini
