Players listed on LTIR are the players most likely to be traded... Except for Staal, whom I expect will have the last year of his contract bought out prior to the expansion draft because of the NTC/NMC. Also I expect Smith & Beleskey to receive much less trade interest than others on the list and for them both to play out the rest of their contracts.

It's also possible that none of the players listed with 2 years left on their contract are traded. Kreider, Namestnikov, Spooner, Vesey, & Fast, might all play out the rest of their contracts, as well as resign new one's upon it's completion. Looking at the depth chart, there's most certainly a need for all of them! But I believe they'll be teams out there that will make the NYR's an offer they can't refuse. Especially if up to half the $$$ of the 2 year contracts is retained by NYR.

The players listed with only one year left on their contract might also not get traded... Zuccarello might be resigned & given the C. Hayes might be resigned to a long term contract and Zibanejad might not be traded before his full NTC goes into effect prior to next season. Maybe instead NYR trades one or two of their top three young centers? McQuaid might also lose any trade value for various reasons.

It's very possible that most of the players I've listed on the LTIR will be resigned, especially if teams don't step up with good offers. Personally I believe teams will step up with great offers, but if not... NYR will simply resign most of them to long term contracts.
