      Slow down on Samsonov. He has struggled in the early part of the season and we need to see if he catches fire. He seems to be the future but maybe not at the start of next season

      Cam Ward is awful. I don't even understand how he's still in the NHL. Copley is a serviceable backup, and is much cheaper than you have Ward here. That being said, if Samsonov is ready, I think the value we're getting back here for Holtby is close, if not spot on.

      IMO ITS ALWAYS SMART TO HAVE AN NHL VET.....sorry for the caps not yelling but I am too lazy to retype that....caps have a solid defense. my main point was get value for holtby instead of letting him walk for free

      No, I actually agree that we should seriously consider trading Holtby next summer. We need that cap space for re-signing other players. I'd rather roll with Samsonov and Copley than Ward. Ward will be another year older, and hasn't been good in over a decade.
