    Additional Details:
Cap relief for TBL and ARI gets more depth at scoring, something both teams need. Murphy is a good, underrated offensive D-man that TBL could potential insert into their line up right away, after they loose some of their older D after 18-19 season.

    Thanks for the comment!

The only challenge would be convincing Toronto to trade within their division. But I think the trade helps both sides. Nylander might be that extra piece it needs to take that next step in the post-season.

Johnson gives TOR a very experienced W/C and success playoff producer, who is in is prime and on a very good contract at $5,000,000 cap hit, especially considering that the cap should continue to increase. Cal Foote is also the type of RHD prospect that TOR is looking to add to it's lineup in the next few season, in not next season.

I abso-fricking-lutely love Cal Foote and his two-way game! I would love him to be on Leafs. If these are the type of trades within division than it should happen. I love Johnsons play in playoffs. Where do I sign? smile

How will you sign point next year and then vasi in two years? From a neutral point of view this trade looks good short term, but in future I don't see how Tampa can keep point and vasi in their system with this trade.

Haha, I'd love to see it happen, just for a pure entertainment value. I'm not sure if it ever will because of how conservative NHL GM's can be the majority of the time. Making a move like this, then re-signing Matthews and Marner and then having the cap space to add another threat on the back end, would certainly be a way Dubas could put his fingerprint on the team.

If you include Nylander's contract and taking Killorn's and Johnson's contracts off the books, in addition to loosing Stralman, Cobourn and Girardi, TBL will have $7.575 mil left in cap space. If the team is also able to move Callahan's contract, then it will have $13,375,000 in available space. It will be tight, but if TBL wanted to make it work it feasible enough that they could.
