in the 2015 draft we could have picked werenski provorov or rantanen but I chose rantanen because he was the same position as zacha and that's what we were looking for at the time

Shero deserves some heat for the drafting. Sure he pulled a rabbit out of a hat with Hall but he failed where he needed to succeed.

Also drafted Joey Anderson with the pick he got for trading back one spot in 2016, drafted Jesper Bratt in the 6th round of 2016. Also Hischier over Patrick was absolutely the right call and Ty Smith seems to be (early I know but he could have made the team out of camp) a great pick this past year. Mcleod at 12 in that draft isnt a horrible pick just have to see it play out, Zacha was more the product of David Conte, not as much on shero.

Shoot higher on the Quenneville pick. If Lou had given up the pick in 2012 instead of picking Matteau, the 2014 pick would have been 10th, AKA Fiala/Larkin range.

Yes that is true. I think Hischier and Smith were the right way to go but with these picks and certainly was not. Sometimes I feel like Shero has made better picks in the later rouns than in the first lol.( Bratt, Anderson, Seney, Talvitie)
