Yep. If you pay 20 goal Wm. Nylander 7M, and add a summer of inflation, 30 goal Simmonds gets at least 9M. Ellis hits UFA at the same time on a 2M deal that's going up to about 7M, and they're not both staying. Wait. Now I see why the offers are just rental offers. But then why build a "year two?"

TBF Craig Smith is in there, and he's a pretty namn good winger on a pretty damn good contract. Not sure Toronto is the destination for him, but the guy's great value. With that said, yes, it's also a shitshow
