What makes you think Duchene would sign anything in Arizona, the place, where he was caught speaking **** on Marty Raymond along with other 6 players by stupid Uber driver?

Yeah Trouba isn't leaving a cup contending team in Winnipeg for Arizona, And you've paid him at least $1 million less then what he's seeking. Don't see Duchene signing with Arizona nor do i see Trouba committing long term in Arizona either.

Arizona is finally an up and coming team and I don't think they are that far off from being a contender. They need a centre or two and they'd be the top team in the Pacific. I could see Duchene going there, why not? The guy should be in a place no one cares about because he needs to be under the radar.

Thanks for the response!

My thoughts behind the Trouba trade stem from the trouble that his party and WPG has had with post contract negotiations. From past interactions, I don't see Trouba resigning long-term in WPG, especially with the list of other pending RFA's that the team will have to work in signing to longer-term deals. I would see him as the odd man out and as someone that WPG has the chance to trade for some good value. This specific trade allows WPG to not have to worry about looking for another RHD that can plug into their lineup, with getting Demers in return. His contract is relativity cheap and he still has two years left on his deal. So in this case, ARI would be helping WPG with some cap maneuvering. Morrow and Niku and starting to really find their game. So I think when you look at how WPG did in last year's post season without Trouba and add some young pieces like Morrow and Niku to the picture, as well as Demers, I think WPG would still be in a pretty steady spot while getting good value for Trouba. Trouba would also play top 2 minutes with ARI, where he's only playing top 4 in WPG on the 2nd unit PP.

In addition, WPG would also be getting a 1st round pick that has put up similar numbers to Appleton (when he's been healthy) and a 2020 1st round pick that allows them to keep building for the future.

What are your thoughts? Thanks!
