Just thinking that Phanuef would not waive his NTC. Don't think he enjoyed his stay as Leaf, and don't think he would enjoy the scrutiny in Montreal. He and his wife just are probably LA people. But your trade is fair.

i think if you offered him a shot at a Team who's been top 10 all year in the league vs LAK who's bottom feeders going through organizational re-structuring he becomes a buyout target .atleast in MTL he knows his grit style will be appreciated and his ability to fight and win will have fans eating out of the palm of his hands .

Phaneuf has a modified NTC giving him 12 team list to submit for trade the odds of MTL not being on that list are low giving we're playing strong but we need a heavy weight who can protect our youth assets and i'd rather Phaneuf destroy his body then let Weber try handling it when he gets back as he's the only one left on our team capable of throwing down the gaunlet .(i mean shaw ,gallagher and byron will fight but they are all light weights we need a heavy hand )
