The hell does Buffalo entertain this?

Why would Buffalo even think of this? They're on fire and he is lighting it up - not to mention this is not good value for Skinner. And on the other side, Toronto will have a hard enough time affording their young RFAs, they sure wont be able to afford Skinner.

This makes zero sense for both teams but especially for the Leafs. To give up that much for a rental is insane. If the Leafs do decide to sell the future for a rental, it will be a dman to replace Hainsey on the top pairing.

Sabres cannot afford to move skinner as a rental. They have sold off pieces numerous times when it made sense, this team has just started to turn the corner. If he decides to go to ufa and sign in toronto, so be it. At least the gm will not have gutted a team headed in the right direction for a rental package.

Why would this trade help anyone? Buffalo Trades their top wingers who happens to be tied for 2nd in the league for goals. So where is the logic for the 5th place team to trade him especially for prospects and a mediocre winger? Also, in what world do the Leafs handle the cap after this? They’re already in deep sh*t. I know it would just be rental but even then it makes no sense for Buffalo to trade their top scorer for a 2nd-3rd line winger, a prospect, and 2 picks
