2 high value, long term contracts
a goalie who can't stay healthy
A depth D

without:

addressing the lack of Center depth
moving Ladd or Clutterbucks contracts
Finding an upgrade for the the 2nd pairing left side

Ignoring the fact that d this amount of change would probably completely wipe out the progress Trotz has made in building defensive structure and team Identity, Kane will never be traded and LAK would laugh at that proposal. I'm sure this would Work in NHL 18, but not in reality. there is a time to go for it and a time recognize there is more building to do

You apparently didn’t read the team explanation and everything going forward. The centers are what they are for this season and can be addressed next season. Bringing top flight scoring means that yes, players will get moved out and after all, it is a business.

Tavares had a lot of friends on this team and what did he do? The friend argument is a terrible one. Draft picks are absolutely expendable unless it’s a top 5 pick, which it won’t be. Pelech is overrated. Aho will never be back up. Between current players on the team and the likes of Dobson and Wilde, Wotherspoon is perfect trade bait.

Injury excuses are tough to make. Would you be rushing Quick back with a team that bad, especially if you’re in the running for a kid like Hughes? I know I wouldn’t. On the flip side, Soderstrom has already been hurt and had major surgery so who knows what will happen with him in his career. Quick is good and has a reasonable cap hit for a goalie of his caliber. He’d be an amazing stopgap from now until Sorokin comes over (if ever).
