You know you are starting with something better than 4th liner and career AHL/KHLer right? Brodin, top-6 forward, 1st and another pick is probably it.

If St.Louis moves O'Reilly they're probably looking to rebuild. They won't want players with contracts like that right away. Any deal from Minnesota would probably start with Luke Kunin or Jordan Greenway. Two young guys still on ELC with offensive upside. You might be right about Brodin going to St. Louis though for cap reason since Minnesota is right up against it. I could see something like Kunin, Brodin, 2nd round pick, and a prospect dman being the package to get a deal done. The only reason why its a 2nd and not a 1st is cause Kunin is a high price to pay already, but I'm not sure Minnesota makes any deal for O'Rielly with their cap the way it is and they need to stay younger and cheap with guys like Kunin and Greenway for depth.

To get St Louis to trade O'Reilly they'd need a lot.
To get them to trade him in the division, they'd need an overpayment.
To get them to trade him in the division and retain, they'd need an overpayment and then some.

And that ain't it!
