Description

Potential out-of-conference swap before the TDL? Miller is locked in for 4 more years at $5.25M after this one (coming off 56 and 58 point seasons, and on pace for mid-50’s again this season). Silfverberg is a UFA at season’s end (coming off 49 and 40 point seasons, and on pace for low-40’s this season). Pick swap is due to contract term. Maybe add a condition to upgrade the TBL pick if Silf re-signs? Slightly less offense for TBL but possibly balances them better overall. Also provides an easy avenue to some cap space in the off-season, unless Silf is a real fit and someone else (or two) gets moved instead. Ducks fans? Lightning fans? What do you think?

Like the thought for getting a good. player with year and getting cap relief. And it's good trade for the Ducks too. But check out those Ducks and their cap next year. They have big cap issues, especially if Perry returns from LTIR, plus like Tampa they have a number of NTCs.

Also Gibson goes from 2.3m to 6.4m. Yea they supposedly have this internal budget. I can never understand why. A team spends about 140m or more to operate. So if you say my player cap is 75m....why not spend 83m and it might but your team over the top. More playoff games, more interested paying fans during the season. What's 8m in the whole scheme of things?
