Has Madison Bowey ever played 28 minutes in consecutive games against Connor Mcdavid and held him off the board at even strength? That’s okay, maybe he’s an offensive dynamo. Oh wait, he has 1 career goal. I’m a big fan of Eller, but he’s a 3c and the Blues already have 4 centers so he doesn’t help us.

You can probably flip Eller for Puljujarvi. Edit: or you can keep Eller to match up against the Penguins. I don't think Trotz even paid attention to who was out against who, and they did okay).

Bowey has more p/60 this year than Parayko, and he had back to back 60 pt seasons in juniors, so, yeah, he should be pretty good. Do you want Hughes and Puljujarvi and Bowey, or do you want Colt Parayko and a fourth overall pick?

I mean, imagine yourself with Hughes and Bowey, and whatever prospects you get for Eller, and someone offers to trade you Parayko and some other prospect they think is almost as good. You don't know whether Hughes will even make the NHL yet, let alone shadow one of the all time greats, for an hour. But you do know that, in limited minutes, Bowey is slightly outscoring Parayko, by rate. Do you make the trade?

Canucks say yes immediately, but I don't think Caps do

Thanks. I think Burakovsky's in the doghouse, so the idea of trading him seems reasonable. I have no insight into when Djoos will be back from LTIR, but Hutton is playing okay right now, and I figure a below average 2LD should make an above average 3LD. But it would take an injury or another small move to fit under the salary cap.

Edit: the IRL Capitals probably never consider trading Eller, Djoos, or Orlov, let alone all three, just one year after a championship, but this fan, who thinks they're all very good players, would consider all these moves, together, to load up on experience for the playoffs, without going overboard on greybeards, or going too far over the cap.

Honestly, I want Parayko, Hughes, Liljegren and a 1st. I could care less about Madison Bowey who was drafted just a year after Parayko and has came nowhere close to his level of play. Parayko was so damn good his rookie year that he forced out Kevin Shattenkirk and his 56 point season.

Good luck. I think he's going to be pretty good for a while.

I agree that trading Pietrangelo should have a much bigger effect on the season than Parayko.

But if the Kings break things down to just Doughty and a few forwards, well, you guys already told me Parayko's better. Good luck. wink

That Shattenkirk trade was a pretty big win for STL. Last Spring, a lot of articles cited it as a reason fewer teams would trade their first round picks for rentals. Pittsburgh and Tampa tried to slightly alter the model, and get thirty-somethings with two years left. Didn't work, either.

If you can get Zaitsev, a first pick, and Liljegren or Sandin for Pietrangelo, I think that's a great move for STL. It could also be a win for the Leafs. Like, a Win. But. Go for it. Aside from the usual jokes about Vrana and Orlov, what do you think would get Parayko to Washington?
