If Carolina is already wanting to trade Hamilton, his value is going to plummet. He was traded from Boston with questions about his attitude, and those questions were raised again after he was traded last summer. Now after half a season he is again on the block? He's worn out his welcome every single city he's played in. I think your return is going to be really low.

Think this take is over rationalized.

Carolina has a log jam at RHD and want to make a path for Adam Fox (part of the reason he hasn’t signed). Think the rumors of Hamilton are more to the fact that he has more value than the other Carolina RHDs.

No one wants to pay the price Carolina has been asking for their defenceman. The only one that seems to be of huge interest to everyone is Slavin and he isn't moving. If Hamilton was living up to expectations and wasn't a cancer in the dressing room (which is the rumour that has surrounded him since he was drafted) there would be no chance he would be in the rumour mill. He is a bad egg and his value is going to drop massively.

Hall was traded because his GM was utterly stunned. That is a different scenario entirely. No one thought Hall was a problem in Edmonton. Many people have questioned Hamilton's commitment to the organization he was playing for.
