This is a good return for a guy who's almost certain to depart in free agency. The question is whether the Islanders have given up on re-signing Eberle. Lamoriello should be interested because (a) it allows them to audition for Bobrowsky this season, and (b) it doesn't cost a high draft pick. I think this exchange is well thought out.

Think about the fact that your trading Bob to another team in the Metro division. We will be playing against him many games per season. He will say its just another game but you know he will show up with his A-game and try to stick it to us everytime. Not sure we should make our division rivals better. A vengeful Bob scares me greatly
