the value is decent but not close to a completed deal. Carolina would be looking to get a bonafide top 6 guy who's got more team control. Dzingel is a UFA this summer and hasn't proven long term that he's a top 6 guy. More like a top 9 on a really good team, even though he could develop into a top 6 guy. Pesce has solidified himself as at least a top 4 dman, and he's got 5 years left on his contract after this one. Plus the fact that he's right handed and almost every team in the league covets a top 4 right handed shooting defensemen adds to his value. The prospect is decent to add into the deal but I'd argue that Pu and Chlapik are arguably the same value. So its essentially Dzingel and a 3rd for Pesce which is just no where close to value. I don't think Pesce is the guy that's getting moved outta Carolina. Seems more like it'll be Hamilton. But regardless, any deal with Ottawa would probably have to be Stone or Duchene going the other way with a guarenteed contract extension in place for them in Carolina. Even still, I bet Carolina would just wait until the summer and shoot their shot at them in free agency and not give up anything

Well, for one, i disagree that Pu and Chlapik have the same value, but like i said in the description, Pu can be replaced with anyone they have under contract with little value that they're willing to give up, just sending another contract the other way to keep them even
