I’ve seen this stat somewhere when it was 11-5-2 or so. Why don’t they have him play every game is beyond me
Hard to gauge how to play a guy when you don't know what kind of system to play...those 30 games were coached by two different people; a lack of consistency in the roster has been the ONLY thing coinciding with the record.
Saying that, if you're watching (I can only assume), the new system is starting to look like it is taking hold. The Rangers look quicker and more decisive (two words I had a hard time aligning with this team); the 21 wins this season is the product of transitioning from cycling the puck to better shooting positions up front, while getting defensemen into better defensive positioning and reading forecheck better..all the while, allowing goaltending to stabilize.
Like the song says, it took a whole lot of climbing, just to get up that hill. Equally, DeAngelo has been part of the ascension. "You have to see growth to identify it.", the late Herb Brooks once said. When you've seen the growth of DeAngelo, Chytil and Nieves (as of late) with a clear reboot of Zibanejad, that growth is apparent.
Thus, feeding into the CapFriendly proposal machine constant trades IS the crap shoot it seems like.
