OTT will get better offers than that for Duchene. With an extension in place, it'll cost Wennberg, 1st, Top Prospect (Foudy, Texier, Tarasov), additional draft pick or prospect

Also, CBJ won't re-sign Sedlak AND Hannikainen. Might not re-sign either of them. Some good young players need the roster spots to get their chance

Milano and Carlsson are not our top prospects anymore, and why the hell is everyone so hellbent on trading Duclair for a third round pick? Hes going to be a jacket next season unless hes involved in a big trade. Hes going to be cheap considering his past struggles for a 2 or 3 year deal

His "struggles" aka laziness is why he won't be resigned.

My guess is they try to trade dubinski one way or another. It's very hard to win carrying around dead cap space. They would be carrying 4.5 million in dead cap. That's a good winger.
They need to clear that off the books. They need to find a rebuilding team and dump him there for a pick.

Unfortunately, more than likely they will buy Dubi out after this season. They would have to pay too much to unload his salary for the value and term he has left.

He has greatly improved and isnt lazy at all. The dude is on pace for 20 goals and will probably be resigned 1-3 years under 3m AAV. Also, what are you implying by the 4.5M in dead cap? Are you talking about Dubinsky or duclair? Surely you arent talking about Duke, because hes been one one of our better forwards this year, scratching asides. If you're talking about Dubi, hes owed 5.85 but I agree hes going to be traded or bought out.

I dont get the Duke hate. Hes performed like a good top 6 winger this season, hes just unlucky to be with Torts who punished players who arent the best defensively(and even then he isnt even our worst forward defensively) but hes still worth 20G this season. Keep him on a second line with consistant linemates he would surely hit 25-30 goals over a whole season. If they re sign him to, say, 2X1.8M AAV, and he kept up the way he's playing now, he would be one of our best contracts. Hes been moved to the first line with Bread and PLD on quite a few games now. And hes an RFA, hes not some veteran on an expiring contract. We can keep him for at least a few more years, if his defensive game really keeps improving, he will be a really good player. I know I'm rambling at this point, but you've got to think they keep him just in case panarin leaves to put him on the first line, he looked good his only game playing up there.

Ottawa has shown in the past their desire for prospects and picks, and CBJ is loaded with top prospects all over N America and Europe.
Wennberg, Kukan OR Harrington, Bjorkstrand and a 3rd?

      Are you kidding me?
It was just a few days ago, maybe a week at most where Fox sports ohio showed him being benched and not playing with Tortz basically chewing him out on the ice during practice.
He's a bum. I don't care what his goals are. He thinks the puck is all about him, he's there only to shoot. Plays no defense, hits nothing, he's worthless on the ice. A me me me me player. Which is why he rides pine!

The 4.5 mil in dead space, is the total they will have next year with Dubinski being bought out. It's another 3+ million the year after. You can't build competitive teams that way. Every team on the top is up against the cap and they aren't wasting space. They are finding ways to add cap space by getting other teams to retain. Buying out Dubinski is 4 more years of being at a disadvantage. They need to find a trade partner. A rebuilding team looking for cap space can easily take that contract given it's only 2 years. Toss over a 2nd round pick or a prospect like Milano and be done with it.
