If you criticize a trade please offer a legitimate better trade.
Overall these trades gave the Oilers 2 more picks in the draft. I would use the first 3 picks and try to use more of the lower picks to trade for prospects further along in their development. another option would be to use the 2 first rounders to move up in the draft if there was a guy the oilers were really interested in.

I'd say Edmonton will be lucky to get a 3rd round pick for Talbot, more likely he'll fetch a 4th rounder.

It's more like moving up from a early mid 2nd to a late first Its not just being handed a 1st also Edmonton is taking cap off space off of buffalo so they can make other moves. Lastly please read the description and make yourself useful.

Why would Buffalo need anyone to take cap space from an expiring Pominville? They presently have about 3 million in cap space and likely aren't buyers at the deadline so can't see why they'd need the cap space. If it was Hunwick or Sobotka Edmonton was taking it might make sense as they each have another season and maybe the Sabres need the space to extend Skinner but even then Edmonton is the last team that can afford to be taking anymore dead weight contracts, figure it out.
