Detroit we have to eat his contract, at least cap wise. Seems like a very unfair rule. Detroit wasn't trying to circumvent the cap rules. The Wings still might appeal and get cap relief.
Detroit may be able to make a deal and I think there are only 2 teams that might help Detroit....Winnipeg and Arizona, and one of these two teams will carry all or part of Datsyuk's cap hit.
