Lol, seriously?

Boston would not give you either one of those assets by themself for Strome. Maybe Nordstrom. Strome sucks.

Canes are not trading 6 years of Pesce for 2 months of Hayes.

Chiarelli was fired. Oilers wouldn’t do that now

I think the Rangers keep Strome because he looks like a really solid third line guy who can play in all three zones to me. Vesey I think they would shop but we are not getting that much for him, he has a good hockey IQ but literally like one of the least skilled guys in the league. Hes a bottom 6 player on a wildcard team. The Callahan idea is certainly interesting and possible in some way

Strome does not suck, he only played for a team that sucks. The going rate in trade for Strome, who's signed for next year as well, is a B-prospect and a late 2nd round draft pick.

Maybe for the Canes and in particular their owners point of view... Hayes is not seen as a two month player, but rather someone who could be resigned if he's a good fit in CAR. But if not a good fit, instead money could be saved (or spend elsewhere - lol smile from reducing the excessive amount of money spent of RD's on the roster.

CAR has a different salary cap than the rest of the teams in the NHL and this fact must be put into the trade equation.

Vesey is signed for next season as well as this one and his brother is also signed by EDM. Vesey's also a good $$$ cap fit.

He’s got the right cap hit for his production.
Nolan’s playing in the ECHL, and isn’t getting much done there. Don’t think he’ll even get an invite to Oilers training camp next season.
Maksimov is a B+ to an A level prospect under control for 7 years.
2nd rounder and a maybe prospect is about the best NY can hope for I think

EDM is looking to aquire a player like Vesey who's not making a lot of $$$ and under contract for next season. Also there several other teams other than EDM looking to trade for the same exact type of player.

Thus high demand in trade and a good season statistically will bring NYR in trade, at the very least least what is being proposed. If not by EDM, than by one one of EDM competitors for Vesey's services.
