I'm very confused... Toronto desperately needs a RHD so Dubas goes out and trades the future for... a LHD?

Probably insurance for the very real possibility Jake Gardiner walks in free agency. Muzzin has also played on the right side with the Kings before. I think it could be a good trade for both sides, Muzzin is a solid player. That pick will most likely be a very late one... possibly the latest in the 1st round.

To have a LHD next year when Gardiner is gone. You can always play a LHD on the right side In the mean time.

Rielly and Dermott have played Rd for most of their careers, and Muzzin has experience on the right.
Actual handedness doesn't really matter if the dman is smart and is used to/knows how to play their off hand.
Hjal for example.
