Description

Since Schenn is playing LW these days anyway, why not give the Blues a winger that more closely identifies with their style. They don’t want to make trades simply for futures but this will allow them to combine the two trains of thought. After this year STL will need young, NHL ready LHD, not to mention more cap space. Fleury has been suffering on a crowded (and expensive) CAR blueline but is definitely NHL ready, has size, and is a really good skater. This will give the Blues more balance going forward. And they can legitimately continue their playoff push. CAR gets a center to help fill the void they have down the middle.

If Kostin is traded (a big if), it sure won't be for Ferland, a shrimp defenseman, and two non-1st round picks. I like Ferland, and I know Schenn would really help the 'Canes, but this doesn't move the needle.

Kostin, Thomas, Bokk, and Kyrou are untouchables as far as we're concerned unless something really good comes our way. Kostin probably would be bringing in Aho or Svech if we were to trade him. This deal isn't good at all for us anyway.

yeah kostin value is no where near either of them. yes he has good Value for a top 6 potential player but aho is an elite player that has franchise potential and svechkinov is elite potential and no way he is getting touched.

Well of course it would be where we pay Kostin+ but we aren't interested in trading Kostin unless we get that type of talent for him in a deal.

No need for all of the pearl clutching Boys, I’ll happily remove Fleury and Kostin from the deal. TBH we don’t really need him and he wouldn’t even be our best AHL RW. I had heard rumblings that the org wasn’t happy with him and I was simply trying to fill a need on your end.
