I don't see them being in trouble. They can always dump a few contracts, and Horton's contract is up in a year and a half. That's 5.3M off the books. They should be fine.

I dont think people really care about the money, just the term.
Basically, "this is good, wish there was more."

Horton contract isn't under the cap, he's on LTIR

how? when a contract is placed on LTIR is doesn't count towards your cap. Your also allowed to go 15% over the cap during the offseason.

Marner @ 11 + million, he and Matthews are just as equal as Kane and Toews or the Sedins were, so pay them equal.

Can't wait to see Liljegren/Sandin in 2020 or even next year on that bottom pair if they're ready. And yeah are freaking out over term and dollars to a few players where several posts on here show that they can keep the core together with a few subtractions and remain a competitve team with cap room going forward in the future. You forgot to sign Johnsson for 2 mill one year bridge deal. I think Kapanen would want at least 3 mill one year deal until there's more cap room. No Ennis

Marner and Matthews are smart guys; I'm sure they're looking at Chicago now and thinking maybe they can be a bit more flexible for the sake of winning and not being in a financial mess on a dead last team.
