Not saying I agree with the signings but the cap will be 83m, Horton will be on LTIR, so the Leafs would be over the cap by 4.5m

thats kind of the point that the leafs are not as bad off as it seems. although the ltir rules can be tricky as to when they put horton on it. still think zaitsev and marleau could be moved.

No the LTIR rules are not tricky. Player can be put on on LTIR at any time with same effect. Marleau' cap can't be moved unless he retired. Zaitsev cause he overpaid by 1m might be a tough move, but you still got to find a NHL ready Dman to take his place. IMO the only logical move is Nylander being traded. His cap is nearly 7m but his salary after July 1 but his cash payout is just 4.6m a year.
I would rather trade one 7m cap hit then having to trade three players like Brown, Johnson and Kapanen for about the same cap hit.
