For reference, there are only 3 non-ELC players that have more points and a smaller cap hit than Zibanejad and they are Kucherov, Elias Lindholm and Morgan Rielly.

I don't think there are any untouchables for NYR, but he is the man right now. I would guess the ask would look like this:

Quinn Huges + Tyler Madden + 2020 1st

or

Jonathan Dahlen + 2019 1st + 2020 1st

I know this is prohibitive, but he is a clear #1C at a bargain of a contract

I get that may be the market for him but I don't think the canucks are trade partners bcuz they're a rebuilding team and shouldn't be giving away young assets.
