These all look like Benning deals .... none of them actually make the Canucks any better ... and only getting late round picks frown

You need to give up assets to get better... The Canucks don't need to make any real splashes at the deadline because they are not buyers or sellers... Benning and Co. are pretty good at drafting so I think the more picks they can accumulate the better (even if they are late)... Getting earlier picks would require moving roster players which is unlikely

VAN needs to be sellers at the deadline .... they are not contenders & just making the playoffs doesn't help them any ... Benning needs to leverage some of the NHL talent he currently has to keep building towards an actual contender. They should be moving out at least Pouliot and maybe Hutton or Stecher.... AND they should be moving out at least 3 forwards from the group of Goldobin, Granlund, Motte, Gagner, Pyatt, Baertschi, Boucher, Gaunce .... really anyone not named Elias, Bo or Brock

The Canucks have too many just OK guys & have lots of talent coming that they should be making room for.....

The Canucks may not be a contender, however, making the playoffs will assist in developing a winning culture. It will provide these players a taste of what is to come without the expense of mortgaging any players (prospects) and picks. Since teams in the West are struggling the Canucks have a chance to make the playoffs with their current roster. I don't see Hutton and Stecher going anywhere anytime soon since they have been handling more defensive responsibility since the Edler injury. Pouliot on the other hand seems to be a defensive liability at times and will likely be gone once Hughes signs his ELC. Goldobin is a work in progress and seems to be getting better, Granlund seems to becoming more and more expendable (however I would rather keep him over someone like Schaller), Motte is a great 4th liner who gives 110% each shift, Gagner and Pyatt will likely stay in Utica considering the fact that no one claimed them on waivers before, Boucher and Gaunce are good AHL pieces that likely will stay their to provide roster insulation. That being said, however, JB and Co. have shown that when the talent is ready space will be made (ex. Gagner this season).
