Bobrovsky is more then likely heading here to Florida. And no way you're getting that kind of return for Panarin to the Leafs. They can't afford him long term. And it sounds like he and Bobrovsky wind up playing with the Panthers.

Thanks for the reply.

I've heard the same about Bobrovsky and he very well might be going to FLA after the season ends. But I don't see him waiving his NTC for a team that is quite a ways outside of playoff contention. STL has been one of the hottest teams in the NHL since the 2nd half of the season and should be a playoff team with the makeup of their roster. If CBJ is able to get a starter like Allen who could benifit from a change of scenery for a UFA in Bobrovisky, I think they would take it. Once they sign Korpisalo in the offseason, they will potentially have a 1A-1B option in net. If Allen doesn't work out then his contact is friendly enough to trade and there are plenty of teams that would give him a chance as a starter given his past performance both in the regular season and post-season.

TOR could be willing to give up those assets if they are able to unload Zaitsev's contract. His term and cap hit is going to be a thorn on their side and will restrict them from brining in UFA's or signing their expiring RFA's if they don't move it. CBJ might not get Bracco in the deal, but the price may be worth it for them to get rid of the that cap hit and a very good winger in Kapanen, for an elite winger in Panarin to play along side Matthews and Nylander. Adding Panarin might put them over the top to potentially win a Cup this year.

Thoughts? Thanks again.

I agree with you and I think Allen is a prime candidate for a change of scenery. I like Boone Jenner, but we don't really need another Center, I also think the Schenn is an awful lot to give up for a rental. To be honest, I don't think it will cost that much to get him as a rental. If you can sign him, that may be another story. But I have not heard any rumors of Jackets being interested in Schenn. I really do think the possibility of Bobrovsky coming to STL are possible. But I think its more of an Allen, and a lower tier forward like Sanford, Barbashev, Fabbri type of guy. Unless you can sign him, then you can move that up to a top tier prospect or forward from the Blues.

Always wondered if Jackets would be interested in Steen if we pay part of the contract. Steen likes the hard nosed coaches like Tort, has familiarity with your GM (from STL) and knows Brad Shaw well. Probably wishful thinking on my part, but I can dream.

Lol, what is that Philly trade? They are asking for a 1st and a prospect. A cap dump and a 4th isn’t going to work. Funny as hell tho. ??

Toronto couldn't afford to keep over a mil retained on Zaitsev for that long. Panarin as a pure rental could get you Kapanen and a second I would guess. Kapanen is RFA controlled without arbitration in his next contract which has significant value.
