MTL declines
alzners buyout starting next season in 2.2m and 1.08m for an additional 3 years
the reason we cant buy him out this year is half his salary for the year was given to him before the season in signing bonus's so if you try to buy him out he actually owe's the habs 76K (which he doesnt have to pay its at a loss for mtL.)

Perry on the other hand 2.625 m, 6.625m and 2.0m for the last two years .
Perry's is tricky because in the final 2 years he only has 12m base salary but to buy him out you're paying 8m to dump his contract.

you then take on 13.25m cap over 4 years to do this . perry has buyout written all over him as he's a 2-3m dollar player at best in todays nhL and no one he'd waive his full NMC for would take the weight of his contract . being bought out give him the ability to move on and join a squad like WSH who's wing depth is weak .

mtL is fine waiting to buy out Alzner or possibly his agent can find a fit like Schlemko and Weise's shared agent as per tsn 690 radio

Great answer, but I think you are too technical.

Perry could help mtl this year and next year and mtl do not have cap issues in the next two years. And adding Miller could provide instant goaly if Price get injured.

A lot of players could help but that doesn't mean we should trade for them. Billy very nicely laid out the issues with Perry and just cause it may help immediately, doesn't mean it won't hurt us later on. I think there's other players we could target that we can keep for longer and that wouldn't screw us with money.. We have the cap space to help teams so let's make it worth out while.

PS: I hope your lines are not what you actually think the Habs should play. The D pairings is horrendous and you can;t split up the Drouin - Dnaualt - Gally line just yet
