Description
With montreal signing shipachev they have no need for desharnais. New jersey needs a boost in goal scoring since they finished dead last in goals so they get an offensive center. Winnipeg gets a solid third line center while montreal moves up in the draft and creates some cap space to sign david backes. Back up option is sign brouwer and keep eller as third line LW and center for injuries but then carr is in a 4th line role which I don't like.

      why would the jets want eller? they have a lot of young players they'd rather give the minutes too. The contract seems like a big price/risk to pay for a guy who has never played NA hockey, especially for a guy thats already 29. it may be hard for a player that old to adjust.

      Dadonov or that other guy that was good for russia seems more likely or a better fit to come over to the NHL

      Montreal is interested in shipachev and have been trying to sign him for a while now.. I have no idea what his asking price is how does anyone? Seems a little silly to get mad over that. It's reported that half the teams in the NHL are now interested in sure they are offerin more than whatever you're thinking.

      Who are the young players the jets would play over eller? He would instantly become there best center to use in a 3rd line checking role.

      Perreault, Lowry, Burmistrov,, Petan, Dano, Copp and Connor are all players who are centre eligible behind Scheifele and Little. That said, I didn't think the trade was too bad. Eller needs a change of scenery.
