Back to the Future
I like the end results. The defence looks solid and an extra season of Halak should buy Hellebuyck and Comrie time to develop. Contract is off the books before Laine needs to resign. Carolina trade makes sense. Not sure NYI are any better but they could use the saved money elsewhere I suppose.

The way Trouba has played this year, I would hope the Jets brass value him higher than Landeskog. If Larsson lands you Hall and jones lands you Johansen...

No way Jets give up another prospect on this one.

Landeskog / Trouba deal
That seems to be a heavy price to pay in the Avalanche trade. There would have to be some heavy Trouba baggage going on behind the scenes for this to make the Jets any better of a team. Would Zadorov be an option?

When everyone is healthy and/or fired their agent
I don't buy that the Myers trade sent any message to Trouba. They packaged Bogosian into the trade who was also deemed a top 4 RHD.

I get the impression that the Jets have a close knit dressing room. Players that come in all seem to be impressed. I'm not sure Trouba can just walk back into the lineup and not cause ripples. I hope everyone could quickly move past this drama as they are a better team with him on the roster.

I went back through your comments juniorgm and actually found that you liked a post back on October 24th. And here I was of the mistaken impression that you only posted negativity about everyone else's fun hobby.

Turris may well be a top line Centre talent in the NHL but he's 27 years old and making $3.5M. Had he stayed in the desert, he'd still be a top line Centre, just be making more money and not be remembered as a holdout.

All but Getzfaf had dual eligibility. RNH could Centre the second line with kesler on RW. Maybe the jets throw in someone like Dano to help.

Two big trades (because I am bored)
I like the trades for all three teams. The resulting defence pairings look great. Not sure on Stoner but if that is who the jets have to absorb to get Lindholn, so be it. I wonder how the chemistry would be with Laine-RNH-Little as the second line and drop Perreault to 3C. Last time Little played RW, he scored 30.

Love the strand of commentary. Anyone have differing thoughts on keepers? Assuming Chevy isn't picking up the phone as a result of this thread and these two trades were to not happen put Myers in Lindholm's place. If Enstrom does waive, what three forwards would you protect? Dano, Lowry and Armia?

Hellebuyck and Comrie are the future goaltenders for the jets. Even if they wanted an upgrade, bishop is available for $6M and Yzerman would want nothing back.

Moose Starting Roster?
Regardless of line combinations and other potential moves between the two rosters, this is by far the best depth the jets have had going into a season. Most teams are relying on all their top prospects to realize their potential. If half of the jets prospects meet expectations, the Jets will be very competitive for years to come.

Cap Space Necessities
$35 million per season tied up in Clarkson, Foligno, Dubinsky, Bobrovsky, Hartnall and Saad. Half the payroll and none of it coming of the books in the next three seasons. Wennberg, Jenner and Atkinson, Murray and Bjorkstrand contracts all come due before any of those contracts expire. I'm sure Jarmo has done the math.

Throwing in Roslovic might be an overpayment. Giving up a promising first rounder plus taking on close to $10m in dead weight contracts is an expensive way to get a top 4 defender.

Those are four very solid lines. Matchup nightmare for the other teams. By rolling three deep scoring lines it should take the pressure off the rookies and keep the players fresh through the dog days.

I wondered about Aho. Thought the roster would start bordering on theme park. Had a plan to land Juolevi as well. I'm hopeful that there is a GM out there that sees all the potential Burmistrov promises and hasn't watched enough film to want to punch him in the throat.</i></div></div>
Now that's funny.
