Both Finns

Description
Each trade should give the trading partners what they are needing.

Edmonton gets a top pairing RHD, a 20+ goal scoring RW, two top prospects and a first rounder.

Columbus gets out of cap hell and expansion draft issues. Connor and Tkachuk aren't a bad consolation prize for Puljujarvi. They also get Roslovic who is a first rounder from last year and is from Columbus.

Calgary trade is just exchanging anchor contracts to areas of need.

Surprisingly the EDM and CBJ trades look fair. Well done. However I don't think you can compete with that goalie tandem deep into the playoffs unfortunately.

Unfortunately, that goaltending duo is already an improvement off of last year. Addition by subtraction. Comrie is still a year or two out but, over time, I think Hellebuyck and Comrie should push each other for quality minutes.

These are three strong scoring lines with significant skill and potential in the 4th and 5th lines. The Hartnall contract is growing on me as I see him as still being a valuable leader in the short term and his contract comes off the books at the same time as Laine, Puljujarvi, Wheeler and Myers. Should give them the cap space to work out new deals.

Agreed. I guess the underwhelming goaltending is due to lack of cap space but looking at those forward and defense pairings, the money has been well spent elsewhere.

those F lines and D pairings are quite strong. Would have to agree with you

Ooh. I like this one. Draft a LHD with the 36th pick. Maybe even move a couple pieces from the 4th and 5th lines to fill that hole up faster.

ok TrueNorth you win the day and I totally applaud this line up (got 5 stars). One thought, what about moving Little up to the #2C slot and let's move RNH for say Sebastien Aho and Hayden Fleury (or another LHD prospect that Carolina has a ton of) and reunite the 3 Finns for the full shebang!!!

To pry the third overall pick from Jarmo, you're probably going to have to eat Clarkson's contract too...

No chance they eat both those bad contracts. Connor Roslovic to trade up 1 spot is HUGE!!! Both of those guys were 1st rounders so basically getting the 4th, 17th, and 22nd, to move up one spot is already an overpayment even if Jarmo is a finn that trade is impossible to pass up because of the cap and expansion implications

I wondered about Aho. Thought the roster would start bordering on theme park. Had a plan to land Juolevi as well. I'm hopeful that there is a GM out there that sees all the potential Burmistrov promises and hasn't watched enough film to want to punch him in the throat.

This is a quality thread, the only thing that doesn't seem good is goaltending. Maybe like Dano or Armia to STL for Elliot or Allen. Very good job.

Jets give up a lot of youth and depth here, but I like the pair of Finns in return. I would send Hutch and keep Pavelec for experience.

I like the thought. However if the Jackets were to trade the pick it would have to yeild a player who could help them now.

It would yield them Seth Jones (who they could now afford to sign long term), Kyle Connor (prospect of the year according to hockey future) and their choice of Tkachuk/Dubois/Chychrun...

Additionally, it could yield them Atkinson who they could now protect in an expansion draft. Not an awful return for a one pick drop.
