You would need to add even without retention. Getzlaf is great centerman still.

Sabres have more assets they would be willing to beef up the trade. Sabres need to stay under cap adding his cap hit.

I dont see a way of doing it this year without Okposo being involved, next year theyll have more flexability in the cap area. But then again you can compare it to the ROR trade, even though ROR was a little more valuable then, than Getzlaf is right now. RoR got 2 cap dumps a prospect a first and a second. Sobatka, Scandella, Nylander or Asplund, and a SJS first
